Director
L'IMMAGINE RITROVATA · Italy
Since 2006, Davide Pozzi has served as Director of the film restoration laboratory L’Immagine Ritrovata, founded and developed in close collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna Foundation. Under his guidance, it has become a globally recognised centre for restoring cinematic heritage. Dedicated to preserving both films and photographic materials, since 2024, the laboratory combines a philological approach with advanced technologies, spanning photochemical and digital workflows. Beginning in 2015, it expanded internationally, opening branches in Hong Kong (2015) and France (2016), and also acquiring Éclair Classics in Paris (2020) and Haghefilm in the Netherlands (2022), strengthening its worldwide reputation for excellence in restoration.
❝Being curious is key in film restoration: it allows us to tackle complex issues related to time and outdated technologies, finding creative and innovative solutions. Without curiosity, our work simply wouldn’t be possible, and it often becomes the driving force behind positive change and progress.❞ — Davide Pozzi on "Curiosity"
