HKDI Graphic Archive presents 'From Pages to Pixels: The Visual Language of Hong Kong Popular Magazines'. Taking City Magazine, Amoeba, and Art and Piece as its points of departure, the exhibition explores how covers, photography, styling, layout, paper, and print have recorded—and shaped—popular culture, urban life, and visual taste in Hong Kong across different periods. Visitors are invited to rediscover the city’s journey from print reading to digital browsing, and to consider how editorial judgment has brought people, images, and cultural ideas worth seeing into the collective memory.

In the latter half of the 20th century, German designer Dieter Rams created over 350 iconic products for Braun and Vitsœ. His focus on sustainability and user experience continues to influence new designers worldwide. Rams' philosophy of "less, but better" is particularly relevant today amidst global resource and environmental challenges. In collaboration with the Dieter and Ingeborg Rams Foundation and Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation, this exhibition showcases a curated collection of his designs, providing insights into his enduring impact on contemporary design.

HKDI is pleased to present a master lecture by internationally acclaimed lighting designer Mr Tino KWAN, marking the launch of our newly initiated series, “Visionaries: in Dialogue with HKDI Design Leaders”. This series will feature prominent figures from the design industry, each sharing their unique insights and professional experiences, with Mr KWAN as the inaugural speaker.
