Founded in Milan in 1982, Domus Academy has established itself as an important Design school focusing on the processes of industrial creativity, aesthetic and consumption scenarios, space and time relations, public and private services. Strongly rooted in Italy, Domus Academy has an international perspective and approach aimed at enriching, spreading, and updating the design culture while putting advanced knowledge in relation with visionary projects.
Domus Academy methodology is rooted in a learning-by-design approach, where learning means investigating, researching and developing ideas and cross-disciplinary projects. Students work on unconventional projects, envisioning future scenarios and creating disruptive designs. Central to the success of Domus Academy are its professors, highly skilled professionals bringing a current and real-world perspective to lectures and projects.
Domus Academy's academic offerings include Bachelor of Arts Programmes, 2-year Master of Arts Programmes, and Academic Master’s Programmes, all recognised by the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR). The offerings are further enriched by Dual Awards Master’s Programmes, allowing students to obtain an additional qualification recognised by the British academic system upon completion of their studies.
The courses cover the fields of Fashion, Design and Business, equipping students to pursue successful careers in the creative industries through an innovative and career-oriented approach. Project(s) in Asia:
Domus Academy has been actively expanding its presence across Asia, engaging in numerous educational and cultural initiatives. In mainland China, it collaborated with East China Normal University and Jilin Animation Institute, participated in Design Shanghai, and was featured in China Daily and Vogue China. In Asia Pacific, it partnered with Bangkok University for an online masterclass and hosted events in Seoul with the Italian Consulate. Domus Academy supported Jakarta Fashion Week, joined Bangkok Design Week, and held masterclasses in Taiwan and South Korea. Highlights include participation in the 2025 Gwangju Design Biennale and presence at Hong Kong’s DesignInspire.
