Italian Design Day 2025
The Italian Design Day 2025 was an extraordinary celebration of creativity, innovation, and cross-cultural collaboration. Spanning three days, the events held at Hong Kong Polytechnic University set the stage for an inspiring journey, culminating in a grand finale at the DX design hub on 12 Feb, co-hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong and the DX design hub, a newly launched dynamic design landmark in Sham Shui Po operated by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC).
The finale event was officiated by Mr. Carmelo Ficarra, Consul General of the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, and Prof Eric Yim, Chairman of HKDC. Adding to the excitement, Ms. Rainy Chan, the newly onboard Executive Director of HKDC, made her first official appearance in this capacity, meeting with the Italian design community. Her fresh perspective and leadership are anticipated to bring innovative ideas and energy to the collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy.
A highlight of event was the captivating Design Talk titled 'Curiosity is evolution' by renowned Italian architect and designer Michele De Lucchi. His thought-provoking presentation left the audience inspired and eager to explore new creative horizons. The subsequent networking session fostered new connections and collaborations between Italy and Hong Kong design communities that promise innovative design ventures in the future.
Italian Design Day 2025 taking place at DX design hub not only celebrated creativity but also marked the beginning of Italy's partnership country with Business of Design Week 2025 (BODW), unveiling the exciting theme of our collaboration.
