Asian Convergence 2023 is jointly organized by The Hong Kong Federation of Design and Creative Industries, The Design Alliance Asia, and Hong Kong Design Institute, with Create Hong Kong as the lead sponsor. Taking place in Hong Kong and Zhuhai from November 26th to November 30th, Asian Convergence 2023 focuses on the latest breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence and their impact on the creative industries, and aims to foster discussion on creating a sustainable future for the industries from multiple perspectives.
The keynote presentation, “AI Unleashed: Exploring the Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence”, will be delivered by 6 prestigious speakers including Jeroen van Erp, Partner and Creative Director of Fabrique; Lev Manovich, Founder and Director of the Cultural Analytics Lab; Shajay Bhooshan, Associate Director of Zaha Hadid Architects; Tai Lee Siang, Programme Director of Design and Artificial Intelligence of Singapore University of Technology and Design; Park Ji-eun, CEO of Pulse9; and Keith Li, Chairman of HK Wireless Technology Association (WTIA). They will share their insights and breakthroughs in the exploration of Artificial Intelligence.
“Asia Convergence Showcase 2023” presents the most sophisticated design practices in Asia, sharing designers’ tactics in presenting the unique features of Asian culture through innovative designs. It encourages interdisciplinary innovations and critical narratives for community reconstruction.
Asian Convergence 2023, in collaboration with The Design Alliance Asia, will bring the renowned annual conference "AsiaMeets 2023" to Hong Kong. The event features seminar and roundtable, to discuss the role of designs can play in face of challenges of modernity in Asia. It also emphasizes the integration of sustainable design principles across different creative specialities.
In addition to conferences, Asian Convergence 2023 features two exclusive workshops. Renowned architect/curator/researcher Wendy Teo who are highly regarded in architectural cultural research, and designer/photographer Aik Beng Chia who is famous for his street and AI photography, will share their researches and stories, from theories to practices. During the two-hour workshops, participants will be led to think critically and learn to use design technology to create social impact.
As an indispensable component of Asian Convergence 2023, there will be a delegation visiting key cultural and artistic institutions in Zhuhai. Representatives from different design industry sectors will establish long-term strategic relationships with their creative counterparts there to capture collaborative opportunities and nurture new partnerships in the Greater Bay Area.
