2.3 Inclusive Wellness
While neglect often happens to elderly and people with disabilities amid rapid development of society, their living standards have seen adverse impact during the pandemic. The current healthcare system and wellness services are hardly sufficient to meet their needs. To address this, more practical action is needed to further reduce barriers, create equitable access, and deliver a more holistic wellness experience. Inclusive design may be the answer to making densely populated urban centres more liveable across society’s different sectors. While diversity, equity, and inclusivity initiatives are progressing, evolving wellness design can better protect and engage at-risk communities and speak to people of different ages and abilities.
