Kigge Hvid has led the development and growth of INDEX: Design to Improve Life® since her appointment as its founding CEO in 2002. This Danish non-profit organisation stages the INDEX: Award and numerous other programmes to inspire, educate and engage people worldwide to use design to create sustainable solutions to global and local challenges. Hvid is also a board member of the Danish Shipping Foundation Lauritzen Foundation and chairman of the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation international advisory board.
